Rob “Gronk” Gronkowski learned at a relatively young age the importance of leading a healthy, all-natural lifestyle. Now 30 years old, he’s already retired from a professional football career that’s awarded him numerous championships and accolades. Despite all of his accomplishments, his football career also left him with a lot of pain. Gronk says,
“I needed to find a way to get rid of the pain.”
He consulted with a number of his football friends (Tom Brady being one of them), who understood Gronk’s predicament. They all mentioned the same thing: go all-natural.
“An all-natural lifestyle helps them stay injury-free and pain-free,” he says.
So Gronk made the switch.

What is “All-Natural” All About?
The term “all-natural” can be confusing, as many companies are falsely labeling their products this way to try and appeal to a growing, health-conscious demographic.
To clear things up, the FDA defines the term as, “nothing artificial or synthetic (including all color additives regardless of source) has been included in, or has been added to, a food that would not normally be expected to be in that food.”
However, “all-natural” is also a state of mind and goes hand-in-hand with leading a holistic lifestyle. This includes not just what you put into your body, but also how you treat your body. Sports and exercise, meditation and mindfulness, and the types of products you choose to use on a daily basis are all part of a mind-body approach to an “all-natural” lifestyle.
The Rob Gronkowski Diet for All-Natural Health
This transition in Gronk’s life means he now eats a diet chock full of all-natural foods. Rob Gronkowski’s diet typically includes plant-based proteins and healthy carbs like quinoa or sweet potatoes, both excellent sources of iron, protein, antioxidants and vitamins. Quinoa has the added nutritional boost of containing all 9 essential amino acids, while sweet potatoes support immune system health and bone development
He also loads up on veggies and organic leafy greens, such as kale. Kale is one of the most nutrient-dense foods out there, with one cup containing over 100% of your daily value of vitamins A, K and C. It is also packed with powerful antioxidants such as lutein and zeaxanthin, which protect eye health, and is an excellent source of plant-based calcium.
Gronk says he consumes anywhere from 3500 to 4000 calories on any typical day, with 15% of his diet coming from healthy carbs. He says, “I love to switch things up, but have a focus on high fat.”
Daily calorie consumption varies person to person because there are many factors to take into consideration when calculating this. Body weight, gender, and how much exercise you do are all determining factors. Because Gronk is an athlete and very physically active, he consumes a higher number of calories than most.
Like Gronk, it is important to make up your daily calorie intake with nutrient-dense foods and not fill up on unhealthy carbs and fats.
Citrus-beet-pomegranate juice for high-performance
Gronk loves to juice. His juicer gets almost as much of a workout as he does. By drinking high concentrations of fruit and vegetable juice, he’s able to consume large amounts of vitamins and minerals at one time.
Beet-pomegranate juice is one of his favorite blends. Both are jam-packed with vitamins, minerals and antioxidants.
Beet juice is high in nitrates, which has been linked with improved athletic performance by improving oxygen use in the body. This in turn helps athletes push further before hitting exhaustion. Pomegranate juice contains punicic acid and punicalagins, two powerful antioxidants, and can even help boost virility.

Low inflammation foods
Eating a diet that’s loaded with holistic, all-natural foods also helps keep inflammation down, and this, too, was a big issue for Gronk. He says,
“I was at a threshold that I didn’t like. Once I switched [to an all-natural diet], things got better.”
Low inflammation foods include:
- veggies such as spinach, kale and broccoli.
- “good” fats, like almond butter
Gronk has found that he not only feels better and his inflammation is kept at bay, but he gets leaner quicker.
“I’ve never felt better!” he boasts.
The Rob Gronkowski Diet Goes for Proteins on the Go
When you’re a man of Gronk’s stature, it’s important to consume enough protein to maintain an athletic physique and fuel an active lifestyle. Protein supports healthy bones, joints, cartilage, muscles, blood, and skin—all the moving parts that keep you going.
While Gronk will not deny that he loves his chicken wings, he gets a large portion of his diet from plants.
According to the 2018 documentary, “The Game Changers,” a single hamburger has been shown to increase inflammation by 70%, while also impairing blood flow. Interestingly enough, protein from a plant-based diet can provide the same amount of protein and also contains fiber, antioxidants, and phytochemicals, which actually decreases inflammation and boosts blood flow.
When asked what his go-to on-the-go meals are, Gronk says go nuts – literally. He’ll grab for some mixed nuts, pumpkin seeds, or sunflower seeds when he’s rushing from a workout to a media event and back again.
He’s also a big fan of grab-and-go protein shakes. They’re a great way to help him feel full, while still allowing him to burn calories, keep his blood sugar levels where they need to be, and maintain muscle mass. Again, he likes to keep them as all-natural as possible without added sugars and a bunch of other not-so-natural ingredients he can’t even pronounce.

Gronk’s go-to CBDMEDIC natural pain relief products
Time and time again, Gronk labels CBDMEDIC’s Active Sport Pain Relief Stick as his #1, go-to favorite product, namely because it rubs on without any mess and is easy to apply on the lower back. The addition of frankinsence and myrrh also provide aromatics that Gronk loves. The Active Sport Relief Stick does just as the name says – it relieves and soothes any pain and soreness, especially after a workout.
Another one of Gronk’s favorites for pain relief is CBDMEDIC’s Foot & Ankle Pain Relief Stick. It brings relief to Gronk’s aching feet after a day of doing business or after an intense yoga session or run.
Both products combine naturally-derived ingredients, menthol and camphor, with essential oils like tea tree and eucalyptus, to enhance the cooling effect for maximum relief. Natural emollients like THC-free CBD hemp oil, jojoba seed oil, and beeswax bind these ingredients together while soothing and hydrating the skin.

CBDMEDIC and Gronkowski’s goals are synchronized – both advocate the importance of pain relief through naturally-derived products and clean living, which is why his partnership with the company works so well.
Gronk says, “Natural health products are a game-changer. They get the job done naturally.”
